Parish Gardens
“For as the soil makes the sprout come up and a garden causes seeds to grow, so the Sovereign LORD will make righteousness and praise spring up before all nations.”
Much of the landscaping on the parish grounds is done by volunteers, from designing, to planting, to maintaining. Volunteers are usually, a person, family or a group of parishioners. A garden on the parish property is assigned to the volunteers to care for throughout the season.
The parish purchases the plants and our volunteers plant, mulch, water and weed through the spring and summer. The flowers volunteers request usually arrive around Memorial Day to be planted that weekend or the following week. The parish has been awarded by the city of Mentor several times acknowledging our property as one of the best–looking properties in the city.
