Parish and Finance Councils

Finance Council

The Revised Code of Canon Law (1983) mandates a financial council in each parish.

The role of this council is to help the pastor in overseeing the financial concerns of the parish and school. It operates according to the guidelines issued by the Diocese of Cleveland. Members of the Council are selected by the Pastor.

Parish Council

The Parish Council is composed of the pastor and lay members of the parish. The Council’s primary goal is to act as a consultative group to the pastor in decision making for the parish. It is the channel through which insights and concerns of the total parish community can be addressed. Parish Council guides the teaching, caring, evangelizing, participating and celebrating growth of the parish.

The council seeks to foster quality communication within the parish to promote its growth. The Council seeks to listen to the Holy Spirit in discerning what is best for the parish in the light of Christ’s mission, the Gospel, the Church’s teaching, and the experiences and needs of the parishioners and the surrounding community.
