RCIA/OCIA

Do you want a relationship with Jesus Christ and a change in your life? Do you feel the Catholic Church is a community you would like to be a part of? Do you want to learn about Jesus Christ, the scriptures, the church doctrine and prayers that Catholics follow? Are you interested in becoming Catholic and have questions about what steps you need to take next?

If you have answered yes to any of the above questions, you may contact one of our priests at 440-255-0600 with questions or complete the Catholic Interest Form and a member of the team will contact you. You do not have to wait for sessions to begin; contact the parish anytime. Sessions take place on Wednesday evenings in the John Paul II Room most weeks of the school year. Call Lydia Donatelli if you wish to register or for more information.

“Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, then I will enter his house and dine with him, and he with me.” – Revelation 3:20

The RCIA/OCIA and RCIC/OCIC process is the journey by which adults and children, who have reached the age of reason (7), become fully initiated members of the Catholic Church. This involves the gradual formation of individuals through a conversion process as they are introduced to Scripture, church doctrine, liturgy and prayer – all centered on Jesus Christ. The RCIA/OCIA and RCIC/OCIC process begins in late August and includes a team of parishioners who welcome our catechumens/candidates and share their own journey. The adults and children are welcomed into the Church at the Easter Vigil. RCIA/OCIA is also open to adults who were baptized Catholics but did not receive the Sacraments of Confirmation or Eucharist.
