Easter Memorial Flowers & Decorations Donations – DUE by Apr 2nd

An offering can be made in memory of a deceased loved one. The names will be
published in the bulletin and we will pray for all of our deceased brothers and
sisters at our Easter Liturgies.
Place the name of the person (please print) for whom the flowers/decorations are in
memory of on the “Easter Flowers/Decorations Offering Envelope”. Place the envelope in the collection basket or drop it off at the Administration Center. A suggested offering is $10.
The deadline is April 2.

SVDP Needs for the Food Pantry

We are collecting items for our Easter dinners:
Traditionally during Easter, the pantry tries to give a little extra. Items needed are boxed potato sides, canned fruit, Bisquick, dessert mixes, hams and candy for the little ones Easter bags.
Financial donations will be used to purchase hams. With SNAP benefits being cut, we expect to see more families in need coming to us for assistance.
We appreciate all your help and keep all of you in our prayers. If you would ever want to visit the pantry, give us a call, or if you know someone struggling with food insecurity, please encourage them to give us a call and someone will gladly speak with them.

The St. John VIanney Furniture Bank (the SJVFB), operated by St. John Vianney Church in Mentor, provides “gently used” furniture, appliances and household items, for free, to individuals and families who are low income, unemployed, previously homeless, refugees/immigrants and/or those who have suffered a disaster. If you have donated such items to the SJVFB in the past, we appreciate and thank you for your generosity. The SJVFB is currently in need of furniture donations, especially mattresses, box springs, dressers/chests, and kitchen/dining room tables and chairs. In addition,
household items such as dish sets (no china), pots and pans, silverware and kitchen utensils, drinking glasses, small kitchen appliances and king and queen bed sheets.
While the SJVFB will come to your residence to pick up your donations, we are no longer entering homes to remove the items. We ask that all donated items be placed in either a garage, a front porch or, weather permitting, in the driveway for pickup. Also, on our pickups, we ask, if at all possible, for a $10 donation to help defray the ministry’s expenses.
If you know of anyone who is need of gently used furniture and/or household items, please have them call 440-255-3051 to schedule an appointment. Once again, all furniture and households are free to those who are in need.
