St John Vianney Celtic Weekend

This weekend long event was begun by Fr Tom Johns 17 years ago as one of our parish’s major fund raising events. The 2020 Celtic Weekend will be the last Celtic Ball we hope for record attendance at the ball this year. The theme of the Celtic Ball this year will be “The Parting Glass,” taken from the beautiful Irish ballad by the same name.

To support this event purchase tickets and attend the Celtic Ball and Hooley. You may also show your support by donating items for the silent auction, raffle, and side boards or become a sponsor in the program. See the Reservation Form for Sponsorship Details.

Celtic Weekend Honorees
The 2020 Celtic Weekend honorees are three families this year: the Burke/Bartel Family for their commitment to the Catholic faith, the Neil and Mariann Gallagher Family for their commitment to family, and the Joe Dowd Family for their commitment to community. Come and celebrate with us on Saturday!

We also look forward to honoring at the Celtic Ball Mike and Mary Amrine with the Father Kline Do-the-Right-Thing Award. Mike and Mary have been great parishioners for many years and were close friends of Father Kline. Each of our honorees have done so much for our parish and community and they represent the best of what it means to be Irish—love your God and Church, family, and be good to those in the community who are in need.

Father Johns and the Celtic Weekend Committee look forward to celebrating with these great people, their families and friends at the Ball. This will be the last year for the Celtic Ball and we are hoping for a record crowd on Saturday night. We will continue to have the Hooley at the parish each year, just not the Ball at LaMalfa.
