Thank you to those that have helped us build a Habitat for Humanity Home
Our parish has worked with Habitat for Humanity to build six homes over the last 20 years. This home was built in anticipation of the parish’s 50th Anniversary in 2019. Ground Breaking ceremony was Sept 16th, 2018.
The house was built on Primrose in Mentor-on-the-Lake with the help of many volunteers and the Lake -Geauga Habitat for Humanity. We are happy to announce that the house was blessed by Father Peter Morris on Feb 17th, 2019
This was a wonderful way for us to thank God for the beautiful parish home we have enjoyed for 50 years. May God bless this home, those that dwell in it and the many people that helped complete this project. Thank you to our parishioners who helped raise some funds to build this new home, to the parishioners who worked as volunteers, to Bob and Dennis Hosler Construction Company who did the excavation, concrete work, foundation and roof installation, and to Dave Chabut and John Rogers for their assistance in procuring the land on which the home was built. It was a good project for the parish and another opportunity for us to practice a corporal work of mercy—sheltering the homeless.
Many past volunteers on the Habitat projects have helped raise funds and shared their skills, learned some new skills and tips that they can use to care for their own homes and made some new friends. Volunteers found this very rewarding.
