SJV part of Mentor’s Cityfest Parade – August 24th

Later this month, on August 24, the parish will participate in Mentor’s Cityfest Parade.  Fr Johns thought that since this is the parish’s 50th anniversary year we should celebrate our contribution to the betterment of the city of Mentor.  It is amazing to consider all the good our parish has done for this community since our founding in 1969.  We have celebrated the sacraments well, educated our children, provided faith formation to thousands of individuals and families, encouraged charity to those in need  and called our parishioners to live in harmony within our community and to let their lights shine for all the world to see the goodness of our God.  Some children from our parish school will carry our parish banner in the parade and most of the staff members will ride in three convertibles and throw candy to the parade spectators.  We will also distribute flyers inviting people from the community to check out our parish.  The parade starts at 10:00 and we hope to see you among the crowds as we celebrate our pride in this great parish.
