Furniture Bank Welcomes Volunteers & Donations

If you are able to donate, the furniture bank could use the following items:
Sheets (all sizes)
Shower curtains
Baking sheets and frying pans.
These items can be dropped off at the parish office.

Furniture Bank welcomes your donations of gently used items and is also in need of a few more volunteers to help with this ministry.

Are you able to help with moving furniture or to stock shelves of bedding and other household items?  The Furniture Bank is a special Ministry of the St. Vincent DePaul Society.  They serve all people in need of furniture in Lake and Geauga counties.  Donations of used furniture and appliances are picked up and stored in a warehouse on East Avenue in Mentor.  Approximately 800 families are served each year.  The bank always has volunteer opportunities for men and women who possess the ability and desire to help people in a very meaningful way.  Please call Maureen Kraizel at 440.255.0600 ext 225 if working in the Furniture Bank sounds like a fit for you.  Joe Dowd, the Coordinator of this ministry will be happy to receive your contact information.

The most critical items needed are mattresses and frames, dressers, and furniture for living rooms, dining rooms and kitchens.  In addition to the larger furniture and appliance items, the bank also provides other household items such as kitchenware, bedding and lighting.

Remember the Furniture Bank when you find yourself spring cleaning & editing items from your kitchen and linen closets. When you are down sizing or in the midst of closing the estate of a loved one that has entered a nursing home or is deceased and would have loved to see their possessions go to a loving home and meet the needs of someone not able to purchase new.

Please call the Furniture Bank at 440.255.3051 if you have gently used items to donate
