Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion

Sharing the Holy Eucharist

Extraordinary ministers of the Eucharist are those members of the community that have been personally invited and commissioned to bring Holy Eucharist to the people of the parish either at mass or by visiting the sick and home bound. These ministers are entrusted with the precious body and blood of Christ.

Training of Eucharistic ministers is done through a mandatory workshop presented by the Diocese of Cleveland. Followed by a hands-on training session at Saint John Vianney Parish and the candidate is then commissioned by Fr Johns at a mass. Once commissioned Eucharistic Ministers are to live their faith in service to God’s people bringing the Blessed Sacrament to the community at mass and to the sick or home bound.
