Ushers

“Do not neglect hospitality for through it some have unknowingly entertained angels.”
— Hebrews 13, 12

Ushers are parishioners who serve the parish by greeting and assisting those attending Mass. In addition, this ministry includes taking up the collection and seeing to the needs and safety of the congregation. There is always a need for men and women in this capacity.

If a person wishes to be an usher, they must be a good practicing Catholic and in good standing with the Church.

Duties of an usher include: Greeting people, guiding people during communion, taking up the collection, handing out bulletins after Mass and taking a count of adults and children at each mass.

Expectations: Ushers should be reliable and should arrive 30 minutes prior to the beginning of the liturgy they are scheduled to usher. Ushers will be expected to check the ushers bulletin board for special instructions when they arrive. Ushers attire for the men should be a suit or sport jacket, shirt & tie with dress pants and ladies should dress up nicely as for church.
